US Mint Commemorative Coin
Authorized by Congress, only two commemorative coins per year are developed by the US Mint to celebrate and honor Americans. The World War I 2018 Centennial Silver Dollar honors the 100th anniversary of America's involvement in World War I, and raises funds to help build the US National World War I Memorial in the nation's capital.

This limited edition coin commemorates the centennial of America’s involvement in World War I and honors the more than 4 million men and women from the United States who served.
The obverse (heads) design, titled “Soldier’s Charge,” depicts an almost stone-like soldier gripping a rifle. Barbed wire twines in the lower right hand side of the design. Inscriptions include “LIBERTY,” “1918,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
The reverse (tails) design, titled “Poppies in the Wire,” features abstract poppies mixed in with barbed wire. Inscriptions include “ONE DOLLAR,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”
Minted at the Philadelphia Mint, the coin is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
